The Story Behind the Greens
From fairways to front yards
My love of grass started on the golf course at a young age. I began playing around 11–12 years old and fell in love with every aspect of the game. The well-manicured courses almost seemed fake at first—I couldn’t believe a living plant could be kept in such carpet-like condition.
After playing golf in college, I spent several years chasing the dream of professional golf—practicing all day, picking up work in the evenings to make ends meet. A 5–9pm cold-calling sales job with a lawn spraying and pest control company was my first introduction to this industry. At the time, I had no idea that this, not golf, would become my career.
I eventually hung up the clubs and took a job as a lawn and pest control technician with a local company. Two years later, I was promoted to service manager and started to see a real future in the industry. That opened the door to joining an upstarting operation where I purchased a portion of the company and learned every aspect of running a successful lawn and pest control business.
After more than eight years helping build that operation, it was finally time to branch out and start my own company. Being in business for myself has been a long-time dream realized, and I put the pride of my business and my name into every customer’s property I serve.
